LA CARA OSCURA DEL FÚTBOL

Mientras el mundo entero mira hacia Sudáfrica y se pregunta por qué hacen tanto ruido las vuvuzelas, hay periodistas que miran hacia las otras caras del fútbol y se hacen preguntas bastante más inquietantes, esas que por desgracia no aparecen en las secciones de deportes de los diarios. Son historias dramáticas y sin final feliz que carecen de esa carga épica sobre la lucha y el triunfo que hacen del buen periodismo deportivo un arte.
Soccer's lost boys
es un documental producido por Current TV, una de las pocas televisiones que se dedica a hacer periodismo humano, como ese del que ahora se habla en España por vía de la propuesta homónima de Javier Bauluz.
Tráfico de niños en África con vistas a convertirlos en estrellas del fútbol. Así de sencillo.

OBNOXIOUS THINGS THAT YOU CAN FIND IN NEW YORK


I don't need to say much. I was biking back home and I bumped into these people carrying these very obnoxious signs. Giving the current international affairs circumstances, obnoxious is the only adjective that comes to my mind, just to be polite... maybe gross or shameless applies too... In particular the guy below and his sign saying 'stop Turkish aggression' were kind of revolting:


Hours earlier I was reading how back in Turkey people were crying for their dead... who killed them? Maybe the people in Times Square needs to read newspapers. They were very noisy but fortunately, they weren't many. I wonder where they get their news from...
